(LibertyInsider.org) – Fans of Michael B. Jordan, the 35-year-old actor best known for his roles in “Black Panther” and “Creed” (not to be confused with the basketball legend Michael Jordan), are in shock after witnessing video footage captured during his car accident on Sunset Boulevard in early December. Jordan was reportedly cruising down the famous Hollywood road at close to midnight when he sideswiped another vehicle and crashed.
Dashcam video captured the tense moment Jordan’s 812 Superfast fishtailed at high speeds before slamming broadside into a parked SUV near the intersection at Beachwood. The clip, which was captured by a nearby driver, opens showing the luxury car cruising down the street alongside another unidentified Ferrari. After what appears to many viewers as a brief race between the two vehicles, the 812 Superfast fishtails and slams into a parked Kia Niro.
According to TMZ, LAPD responded to the scene shortly before 11:35 p.m. Officers were able to confirm that Jordan was indeed present at the scene but did not clarify whether he was the one driving at the time. Officers refrained from performing a field sobriety test but reportedly had no reason to suspect that Jordan was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Police were able to confirm that Jordan’s blue 812 Superfast made contact with the parked Kia Niro SUV. Both luxury vehicles sustained notable damage in the collision. Fortunately for the A-lister, no major injuries were reported.
A source told the Hollywood Reporter that Jordan, who was set to receive an award at the Academy Museum Gala the following evening, opted not to attend out of an abundance of caution. His sister Jamila Jordan accepted the honor on his behalf instead.
The LAPD has yet to release a public statement on the crash. Furthermore, a number of details remain unclear, including who owned the other Ferrari seen in the footage and whether the two luxury vehicles were indeed attempting to race down Sunset Blvd.
The fact that the accident occurred on one of the busiest roads in Los Angeles highlights the importance of safe driving practices and the risks associated with stunting. Fans are largely relieved that Jordan wasn’t injured, but many are understandably frustrated by the footage.
