(LibertyInsider.org) – The 2020 election is in the rearview mirror, and the 2024 election is just months away. However, there are still multiple cases playing out from the events that went down. One of former President Donald Trump’s legal advisers, who was charged alongside him in the Georgia criminal case, has now temporarily lost her license to practice.
On Tuesday, May 28, a Colorado disciplinary judge approved an agreement between the state’s Attorney Regulation Counsel (OARC) and Ellis. The OARC originally censured her last March following her admission of making “misrepresentations” on social media and television. Now, she will lose her license to practice law for a period of three years.

The court acknowledged that typically, upon a felony conviction, a lawyer would be disbarred. The stipulation notes that Ellis’ “criminal culpability was due to her conduct as an accessory, not as a principal.” Ellis pleaded guilty in October 2023 to just one felony count of aiding and abetting false statements and writings following the past election. She was facing multiple charges, including for violations of the RICO Act. She apologized for her actions and said she relied on others with more experience and failed to verify what they told her. Ellis later said she believed her actions were taken in good faith and acknowledged that there were bad actors on both sides.
Ellis’ law license suspension begins on July 2. She will also have to pen an apology letter to Georgia residents and complete 100 hours of community service. The last part of the settlement mandates that she pay the Georgia secretary of state a $5,000 penalty.
She will be eligible to reinstate her license, but she must provide the court with “clear and convincing evidence that she has been rehabilitated” and prove that she “is fit to practice law.”
The former legal adviser has also been indicted in Arizona, where she faces similar charges to those she faced in Georgia.
