Jeffrey Epstein Accusers Go After FBI

Jeffrey Epstein Victims Go After FBI

(LibertyInsider.org) – It’s been several years since convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein died, and he left a long trail of victims in his wake. His ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty of helping him carry out his dastardly crimes, and during her trial, many of the accusers’ names were released. Despite her lengthy 20-year prison sentence and Epstein’s death, some of the accusers are still seeking accountability, and this time, they’re going after the FBI.

On Wednesday, February 14, 12 Epstein accusers filed a complaint in the Southern District of New York, claiming the FBI failed to protect them and then covered it up. The accusers’ identities are hidden, with just Jane Does 1-12 listed as the plaintiffs. According to the complaint, the FBI received complaints over a 10-year span from 1996 to 2006 but failed to act on them or open a probe until July 2006.

Still, the investigation closed two years later after Epstein pleaded guilty to a prostitution charge in Florida. The complaints continued until he was arrested in 2019 without any action taken. The bureau is accused of allowing the alleged sex trafficking to continue unchecked and has not taken action to “right the wrong.”

According to Jennifer Plotkin, an attorney with the firm that filed the complaint, “The FBI has turned its back on [Epstein’s] victims” and said they want to “hold the [agency] responsible for [failing] to act” when it had an absolute responsibility to do so.

There are believed to be more than 100 victims in total, and several accepted a settlement from his estate and two banks accused of being aware of the nature of the sex offender’s business and failing to flag it. It’s not immediately clear if the 12 accusers who filed the complaint received any compensation to date.

The FBI has declined to comment on the case, saying it doesn’t discuss ongoing litigation. This isn’t the first time the bureau has been sued by multiple victims of sexual assault. In June 2022, more than 90 women sued the FBI for failing to protect them from convicted sex offender Larry Nassar.
